I love the styling and functionality of the GE Coffeemaker with stainless carafe. But the warming plate only stays warm while brewing and coffee doesn't stay hot in the carafe as long as I would like, certainly not 2 hours as described. Also it's virtually impossible to pour the last ounce or two of coffee because of the squared off shape of the top interior of the carafe. You have to turn the carafe completely upside down and then the coffee comes out the fill port, going all over the counter. I still like the coffee maker and I would have given five stars if it weren't for these small annoyances.

Today we unboxed and set up our new GE coffeemaker that arrived yesterday and before long we were enjoying fantastic tasting coffee in our living room to go along with freshly baked cinnamon rolls. It's so easy to use and the carafe is perfect. Love the stainless steel look too. It also holds 1.5 liters so there's plenty of coffee to enjoy in just one pot!! My wife and I have owned countless GE appliances since we married 40 years ago and GE still hasn't disappointed us. Thanks so much GE, we can't wait till tomorrow morning!.

I brew my coffee at 5am every day, on auto, but my schedule changes. No matter what time I get up, this coffee pot keeps my coffee nice and hot - exactly what I wanted! Sometimes getting the water into the reservoir from the pot is a little tricky and I always spill a bit (maybe I'm doing it wrong?) and I always need to open the lid to get the last bit of coffee out, but it's not a big deal so I only downgraded 1 star. Otherwise, works great!

This machine is high quality - love that the carafe isn't glass and the coffee tastes great; it stays pretty hot for a number of hours. The issue we have is the display doesn't indicate coffee is made so hard to know if you aren't the one who made it when it's ready. There is also no way to see what is left in the pot. As other reviewers said, it is hard to pour to last drop but this doesn't bother us much

Do not buy this. Very poorly designed. I bought this coffee maker in Dec. 2020. Within 3 days the inner handle broke off the drip holder. When you try to poor water into the basin, there is not enough room to maneuver the carafe to empty it and the carafe does not empty completely of water anyway even if you pour it out in the sink - you have to shake the water out. Also, I cut my hand on the inside rim of the carafe when washing - it was sharp. I don't know what 4th grader designed this, but it is a shame that a once reputable company as GE would sell anything so poorly made. I will say it looks nice, but that's it.!

All I wanted was a carafe to keep coffee hot after brewed in my regular coffee maker. My wife found this and although I balked, I finally gave in. It is a smart looking streamlined coffee maker that I fill up to line 4 every morning. The first cup pours fine and is sufficiently hot but the coffee maker is now turned off which makes sense as the carafe is supposed to keep the contents hot for several hours. It doesn't. Even after an hour, I still need to microwave my second cup for 30 seconds. In addition, the remainder doesn't totally fill the cup as I then have to take the top off and tilt the carafe to the side causing some spillage on the counter. Even then the carafe is not totally empty. This product will be tolerated until a time comes when it is no longer functional and the contents will be recycled.

It is impossible to completely pour all liquid from pot because of the lip inside the pot. Turning the pot completely upside down will not even remove all liquid. If I fill pot with water to fill the water reservoir, there is still water in the pot which I have to empty before brewing coffee. So have switched to using cup for filling water reservoir. After brewing a pot, can not completely pour all coffee out. Eventually turn pot totally upside down, but then coffee comes out both the pour spout and the brewing whole in the top of the lid, which causes coffee to spill outside the cup. A mess to clean up. This pot needs to be redesigned. I would be interested in getting a better pot to use with this coffeemaker.

GE apparently was more into aesthetics than engineering on this one. The stainless carafe is poorly designed. When you get towards the bottom quarter of the carafe you have to invert it so much for the coffee to escape the inner lid that the coffee pours from the top spout and side spout at the same time, spilling coffee all over the counter. Also coffee is not nearly hot enough and a fresh pot must be poured and microwaved to get to ideal drinking temp. The flavor is also not nearly as rich as our old Krups machine.. the GE coffee maker looks great on the counter but fails miserably from a functionality standpoint.

I am very disappointed in the carafe. There is a lip around the edge that prevents you from getting all the fluid out. Its also hard to empty the carafe into the pot.

I've used the GE Drip Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe for one week. The first use was with the default settings and we found the coffee wasn't as hot as expected, desired, or as we experienced with our previous coffee maker with a thermal carafe. Since then we've been using the "Bold" setting which results in a hotter cup of coffee but doesn't significantly make the taste stronger. Wish there was a way to make the "Bold" setting the default.
The coffee maker is attractive and looks nice on the counter. It is a few inches shorter than some competing models - important to check your cabinet heights. I wish the water level indicator was on the left side (as you face it), but that is a function of where it is located on my counter. The indicator is easy to read. The gold filter is nice, I suggest rinsing it in cool water before adding coffee. That helps to assure coffee "dust" doesn't make it to your cup.
Controls are easy and intuitive. You can set a timer but I don't typically use that feature. Clock display turns off when the coffee maker is idle. Brew time and gurgling noise is about what you'd expect from any drip coffee maker. I like that the thermal carafe has a large opening that will make cleaning easier that many thermal carafes. But, the shape of the carafe makes it difficult to totally drain - there always seems to be tablespoon of liquid left. Carafe top is a "pour-thru" type that screws in tightly to retain heat. All the removable components - carafe, top, funnel, gold filter - are supposed to be washed in hot soapy water. According to the instructions, the unit will remind you after 80 or so uses to descale the machine - helpful feature. And a strange instruction to unplug after each use would disable the clock.

Stainless steel design and thermal carafe are a countertop complement to my stainless steel appliances. Easy to use - no complicated unnecessary buttons and features. Makes great tasting coffee, and like the "BOLD" feature to brew a stronger tasting coffee. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours, without giving the coffee a "burnt" taste. Glad to see GE is manufacturing small appliances again - Quality reputation!

I've had this coffee maker for about a week. It makes a 10 cup pot of coffee in about 8 minutes. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours without burning it. I used to have to microwave cold coffee, but not anymore. I only wish the clock could stay lit all the time, as it goes out when the coffee is finished brewing. But, overall it is a really nice coffee maker. Glad GE got back into the small home appliance business.

The GE Drip Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe works and looks great. It has a couple more modern features than your classic drip coffee maker. It has a "brew later" function so it's ready for you at whatever time in the morning. When using the "brew later" function, the display lights turn off after brewing. If you press any button, the display time shows up again then disappears after a few seconds. It also has a "bold" function which makes your coffee taste stronger than usual. And of course it also has a regular brew function for those unexpected times you fell like having coffee.
There is no need to buy paper coffee filters. It comes with a reusable and dishwasher safe mesh filter. It does not come with a water filter- some coffee makers out there have it. I suggest flushing it out once in a while with vinegar and water. The water level marker is on the right side of the coffee maker. So, you might not want to have anything blocking the space directly to the right of it. And there is no water level indicator on the steel carafe. There is also a small space to pour the water in from the top. The carafe lid has a rubber gasket, and the lid locks in place by turning it. The steel carafe keeps the coffee hot for about a couple of hours. But the coffee maker itself does not keep it warm. Once the brewing is done, it shuts down completely, including the time display.

The GE Drip Coffee Maker is a solid coffee maker. The carafe is insulated stainless steel keeping your coffee nice and hot all day. It has a locking lid on it as well which helps prevent spills. It comes with a permanent filter so you don't have to used paper ones. The system has a clock and an auto brew feature which is nice. Overall solid coffee maker.

This stainless steel coffee maker with the stainless steel carafe is perfect, it's aesthetically pleasing with a sleek and modern design, The directions helped make it easy to use because we switched from the old stove top percolator to this drip coffee maker. The clock is easy to read and lights up when you're brewing. The buttons are easy to push. So far there hasn't been any sludge in the bottom of the pot. I'm super happy so far!

This coffeemaker to me, makes my kitchen feel and look more modern because of the design itself. The stainless steel carafe is definitely a plus to keep that coffee hot and is a little heavier than your traditional glass carafe of other coffeemakers. This is also a quieter model than other ones I have used before which is very nice too. Makes a great pot of coffee. One downside is you can not see how much coffee is in the carafe because of the stainless steel design but if that's not too important to you nor me it's not a deal breaker. I do love it comes with a "reusable" filter for the coffee which means i never had to buy paper filters ever again, but do remember to clean it every so many coffee cycles. Just fill the water chamber, put in your favorite coffee and hit the BREW button on the front of the machine. It will light up once it starts. And secondly the only other downside to this machine if you didn't know it before you use it or have other coffeemakers that beep when it's done brewing, this one does not. But you will see on the digital screen when it is brewing because it will show on the screen and then disappear when it's done. Again, not a deal breaker for me. We have not used the automatic brew option yet, but it seems pretty easy to set and forget it if you are an early morning riser and want to use that feature. Clock is pretty simple to set as well. This coffee maker also comes with a retractable cord in the back which is also a nice thing to have it you don't want an extra cord sticking out or need extra cording to reach that outlet to plug it in to.

For the price point this is a good coffee maker. The cup is robust and strong, it quickly brews and is the appropriate temperature. My only complaint is it's a bit difficult to clean but isn't enough of a hassle to be a huge deal.

I was extremely happy to find that this carafe truly keeps coffee (or water) hot all day. Not only does it look sleek it is super easy to use. I really love the "Bold" brew option. This will be perfect for our bar this winter where I am always whipping up hot chocolate beverages for guests and now the hot water will be ready to go at a moments notice and I don't have to keep heating up water. It is super easy to clean and is fairly quiet while brewing.

So I really like my new GE® Drip Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe, I love that I can set the timer and have my coffee ready when I step out of bed. It's sleek and looks very nice, the stainless carafe won't break so loving that. It has an auto shut off after 2 hours ( can be a plus, or not depending) I love this feature never worry again if "you turned off the coffee pot" the thermal carafe keeps your coffee warm for hours, after the maker is turned off. I love that this maker don't cook your coffee. I have found a couple snags! You can't fill the maker up very easy the pour spout won't let you, and it pours kinda slow. The carafe has a lip edge and you can't get all the coffee out or water when you wash it either, you have to swish it back and forth to get it out. Oh another plus is the filter is reusable, you can dump it and wash it. I found I don't like that so much, it's one more thing to wash every day and the grinds don't just dump. I use my grinds in fertilizer so I use a filter in the filter. On the Plus side no grinds in your coffee EVER again. All in All I think this is a nice strong coffee maker The positive out weighs the negative, especially if you're not the one cleaning it.

I love the thermal feature. Vacuum sealed, with double walls, it keeps optimal temperature for a long time. The carafe has a nice spout, and large opening for easy cleaning. Be sure to thoroughly wash the manufacturing oils off the brew basket and the reservoir. Then run a few brew cycles with just water before your first true brew.
The design is sleek and matches my kitchen so well.
Coffee stays steaming hot for up to 5 hours and warm up to 12 hours. Amazing! It doesn't taste burnt because it doesn't sit on a hot burner for hours like the old style coffee makers. I have zero complaints about this coffee maker. I highly recommend!

I'm surprised that GE still makes coffee makers. I was drawn to this cause of the looks: all stainless steel (ss) and will concentrate on its looksz The quality of ss is good and what you need. NO fingerprint remnants at all when handling any part of this. I own several ss appliances and have noticed not all ss are created equal so trust me in this. This ss lightweight too. I haven't yet owned it long enough to comment if it scratches easily but so far so good.

All I can say is WOW!! I've owned GE - General Electrics products in the past. Actually I'm finally owning my own, as most products were bought and owned by my grandmother. She highly favored GE products. This GE Stainless Steel ThermalCarafe Drip coffee maker is the best. Out of the box it's a no brainers. Not a lot of gadgets to fiddle with. You plug it in, set the time, as simple as that. The controls are easy to figure, from deep brew, to light brew. After making a great batch of coffee, it goes into an automatic warming setting. One of the best parts is you never have to buy a filter. Genius! Who wants to have to invest in filters every month or week, depending on your usage. I also love the fact that it has an auto cleaning system as well. After 80 cycles of usage, it cleans itself. It has a water level gauge on the right so you know if you have to refill the water. I actually use it to make Chai Lattes. I often switch off coffee grounds and use loose chai tea leaves. It's left up to your creativity that allows you to make all those special coffee drinks from those big named coffee houses. This can do the job. I like that the carafe is stainless steel as it fits with my kitchen decor. Also, even though the coffee maker keeps the coffee warm for 2hrs, after it turns off, the carafe is thermal which means the coffee will continue to stay warm for a few more hours. GE will always be a part of my household

I have a coffee bar set up in my home right in our living room, so I needed a coffee maker that I didn't mind looking at every day. And this is one beautiful coffee maker. The black stainless looks amazing and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
And apart from its looks, it also makes great coffee as well. I'm pretty picking with my coffee, so I ran a number of pots through to dial in my settings and preferences. I've been using this daily for a couple months now. I set it every night to make my wife coffee before she leaves for work and she loves it. We haven't used a K-Cup once since getting this coffee maker, which was the ultimate goal.
Super easy to clean. I empty the filter basket every morning and wash everything out and wipe down all the surfaces. Be careful not to open the lid too far after use, or you WILL get water down the back of the coffee maker (as is the case with just about every coffee maker in existence). Just open enough to remove the basket, and then hand-dry everything. I use a paper towel to dry off the inside portion, and then prop the lid open a bit to let it dry completely.
The LED lights are a little bright when the coffee maker is set, but not a huge deal. The "beeping" that sounds when the coffee is done is LOUD. You could mistake it for a smoke alarm going off. There is an option to disable the beeping altogether, but I'd prefer options for quiet vs loud, because its default sound level is a bit overkill (at least for our house).Bottom line...beautiful coffee maker, makes great coffee, highly recommend!

I love this coffee maker. I've always had just a basic coffee maker, and didn't think I needed anything fancy, but boy, was I wrong! Firstly, just the design is beautiful and modern. It makes my kitchen look better just sitting on the counter lol. Let's talk about the auto brew function! What a game changer! I wake up to coffee ready for me! I love it! And the carafe us insulated so nicely, I take it right into my home office with me everyday to keep my cup full, and it stays hot for a good, long time. I also love the cleaning function. Just the press of a button takes all the legwork out of cleaning the machine. This coffee maker is just divine!

The GE Drip Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe fits in with any kitchen decor. However the design makes it a little tough to pour the water into the back. I love the fact that you do not have to worry about cracking the pot as with other coffee makers.

Love the Thermal Carafe I made a pot of coffee around 8am and it stayed warm until around 12 noon. You can preset it to start in the morning. Shuts off when its done brewing. Cleans up easily. Will be enjoying for years.

I was really impressed with this coffee maker. The coffee was strong and tasted good on the normal brew. The coffee pot carafe keeps the coffee hot. The only problem I have had with it is getting all the water from the coffee pot into the reservoir. But doesn't make it a big problem. Thanks for a Great Product!!

I got this GE coffee maker to replace my single brew coffee maker. I wanted to be able to brew a full pot that stayed hot during the morning. This coffee maker does that very well. The carafe looks small but it holds 10 cups of coffee and keeps it piping hot without the outside of the carafe being hot to the touch. The coffee maker looks great on the counter and is very easy to wipe down since the surfaces are smooth. My only complaint is the process of filling the coffee maker with water. The carafe is designed in a way that it's pretty much impossible to empty all of the water out of it when filling the coffee maker. There's enough water left over that you have to dump it in the sink because there's no way to turn it completely upside down and still get the water in the back. Pretty small complaint for a nicely designed coffee maker.
